A Disney Christmas 2011

In December, the girls had a nice surprise by getting to visit their good friends Jacob, Josh, Nathan and Noah in Florida. They were very excited to go see them, almost more excited then hearing we were going to see Disneyworld.

The girls remembered quite a bit this trip, all the way from the “Mermaid” . . . → Read More: A Disney Christmas 2011

Alyssa’s 5th Birthday, Halloween and Winter

A few weeks ago, we were in Edmonton to celebrate Alyssa’s birthday with Denise’s family. While we were there, we went to the park to play. While we were there a little boy walked up to Alyssa and had the following conversation:

Boy: “Hi, I’m Dutch”

Alyssa: “I am too”

Boy: “But I don’t . . . → Read More: Alyssa’s 5th Birthday, Halloween and Winter

First few weeks of school…

The first few weeks of school have gone pretty well. Kyla just loves going to school, but I guess being the 2nd kid makes it easier. I remember Alyssa crying a few times when she was about to be dropped off, and then mentioning she didn’t want to go at all during those first few . . . → Read More: First few weeks of school…

First day of Kindergarten, First day of Dance

So this week was Alyssa’s first day of Kindergarten and she was very excited to go. After the first day she was extremely tired and just wanted to go home. The end of summer…

While they were watching, the show switched to base jumping (jumping off of a bridge/cliff/building with a parachute). As the guy leaped . . . → Read More: A day on the river

Summer Fun

We have been growing out Kyla’s hair a bit, and now she is able to grab a strand and pull it into her mouth. This evening after supper, Kyla was putting the strand into her mouth and Mommy said to her: “If you don’t stop that, I am going to cut it off”. Alyssa looked . . . → Read More: Summer Fun

Alyssa’s Last Day of Preschool

So Kyla’s latest saying goes as follows:

The pee is the drink The poop is the food And the flush is it swallowing!

The other night, Alyssa woke up from a nightmare. I went into her room to find out why she was so upset and the coversation was as follows (this was at . . . → Read More: Alyssa’s Last Day of Preschool

Finally some spring weather

The girls spent 5 days last week away from Mommy and Daddy (as they went to Vegas). The girls spent the week with Oma and Opa and apparently did wonderfully (which is great for both the girls and for Oma and Opa!!!).

This weekend we took the girls to Storybook Theatre, which Alyssa seemed to . . . → Read More: Finally some spring weather

Face Painting

This weekend, we took the girls to the new farmers market. We were just about ready to leave when Alyssa really wanted to get her face painted…so we got her face painted. Here she is during and after the face painting.

This lasted maybe 2 minutes before the sparkles and make-up around her . . . → Read More: Face Painting
